Hoppe on Forced Integration
What are the conditions that allow us to live peacefully?
Most people are not ready to consider points advanced by Hoppe (RE: Democracy The God that failed). However, the short video below shines a light in one of our most heated debates nowadays. Migration.
One of the goals while discussing this topic should be how we reduce violence between different groups.
As a migrant capitalists, this touches a string of my personal life. I’ve lived for many years in 3 different countries and have spend over 3 months in many more.
Highlights:
- Free trade and division of labor benefit everybody.
- Force migration should be discourage.
- Mayor conflict occurs in multicultural societies.
- People who are very different living next door to each other causes conflict.
- China Town (LA, SF), Doral (FL) are bu buckets of similar people.
- There should be buckets where people can voluntarily accept migrants.
- There should be buckets where people are not forced to accept the migrants.
Switzerland solved for this problem by delegating most of the power to the different Cantons. These in turn were created to replicate the already establish division of very similar people into different groups. Similar to Doral in Florida or the many “China Towns”.

It’s all about force. Are you forced to accept something or not?
